Emotional Success (1995)
This daughter of Last Tycoon burst onto the stage when a Flemington winner at her 2nd start after placing at Caulfield on debut. Not only did Emotional Success win handsomely at Flemington, but in her wake that day was the champion sprinter, Isca, who would just five starts later win the G1 Lightning Stakes, then the G1 Newmarket Handicap at her following start.
Emotional Success won 3 metropolitan races (two races at Moonee Valley and one at Flemington) and was stakes-placed in the Listed Straight Six – failing by a nose to defeat Rancho Spark. One of the Moonee Valley wins by Emotional Success was a spectacular all-the-way 7 (conservative) length thrashing of rivals who themselves had multiple metropolitan victories to their credit.
In addition to her 3 wins, Emotional Success was placed 9 times from her 33 starts and won nearly $95,000 in prize-money.
