    Sacred Choice

Undeniably one of the great milers of recent times, Sacred Choice has a resumé that includes victory in the premier mile of Australian racing, the Group One Doncaster Handicap at Randwick – winning by 2 lengths. Sacred Choice also boasts an emphatic 4.5 length victory in the Group One Myer Classic at Flemington – on the day easily accounting for Typhoon Tracy (Australian Horse of the Year 2010-11). Making Sacred Choice not only a dual Group One winner, but twice an emphatic winner of two great races of the Australian turf.

Sacred Choice came close to being among the select few to have won both the Doncaster and Epsom Handicaps, finishing an unlucky 3rd in the 2010 renewal of the Epsom behind Captain Sonador.

In addition, Sacred Choice won the Listed Aspiration Stakes and the Group Two Emancipation Stakes at Randwick. With Group One placings in the Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m), Sacred Choice is a name now etched in racing history.

Sacred Choice was an inspired and targeted mating devised to maximise the potential of her (at that time) under-performing dam. Based on DNA principles, the terribly inbred Sacred Habit was outbred to a prepotent inbred sire in Choisir.
