Tears To Diamonds (2007)
An Australian bred horse in this modern age is quite likely to end up as Champion Racehorse of another country. Australian-bred Sacred Kingdom and Silent Witness both being awarded Horse of the Year status in Hong Kong, while Igugu is a recent example, being South African Horse of the Year in 2011-12.
Another example is Tarcoola Stud’s Tears To Diamonds, voted as the Malaysian Horse of the Year in 2011. A rapid progress through the grades – winning five races in succession – culminated with Tears To Diamond’s victory in the premier race of Malaysia, the Group One Yang Di Pertua Negeri Gold Cup (2200m).
Sold for $38,00 at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale – and now the winner of over $250,000 in prize-money – this imposing son of Royal Academy proved an unstoppable powerhouse in Malaysian racing in 2011. Tears To Diamonds is by Royal Academy and out of our impressive mare, Tears Of Argentina, a half-sister to multiple winner & stakes-placed, Ranch. This is also the family of Vitalic, Tears Royal and My Evita.
In 2013 Tears To Diamonds placed 3rd in the Malaysian G1 Piala Emas Sultan (2000m) – the third leg of the Malaysian Triple Crown series. This performance full of merit as he pulled up lame in the process.
In 2013 we sold a half-brother to Tears To Diamonds (by Wilander) at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $75,000 to Gillian Heinrich. Subsequently named Deuced, he was a winner on debut at the Gold Coast in 2014. Subsequently sold to Macau and renamed as Sweet Korean he is in brilliant form in 2016 and has just completed 4 wins in-a-row.
